The Physics A Level at UTC Leeds will give you a solid platform for any scientific or engineering degree course at university. There is a good coverage of a range of physics topics such as quantum phenomena, waves, mechanics, electricity, fields, radioactivity and thermal physics.

AQA AS and A Level Physics
What does the course cover?
You will cover the following core curriculum:
- Measurements and their errors
- Particles and radiation
- Mechanics and materials
- Further mechanics and thermal physics
- Fields and their consequences
- Nuclear physics
You will also have one of five option choices:
- Medical physics
- Engineering physics
- Turning points in physics
How will you be assessed?
You will sit three 2-hour written exam papers at the end of your course.. Each paper is worth approximately one third of the A Level grade.
What can you go on to do?
Physics is ideal for students who want to study a wide variety of related subjects at university or to follow a career in science. There are many careers which utilise the knowledge and skills in physics; these include medicine, engineering, technology, medical physics, computer science, nuclear technology, space science, geological surveys, weather forecasting, accounting and finance, patent attorney, product development scientist and systems developer.
